Pipe Layouts

There are two main pipe layout methods – snail and serpentine. The snail pattern offers a more uniform temperature and is the most commonly used. The serpentine pattern can be used when the room has only one main heat loss wall, or in long, narrow areas. In laying either pattern, it is advised to run the supply line along the highest heat loss area first. (e.g. along glass doors, windows or external walls)
